Welcome to AI SRE
AI SRE is Better Stack's chat-based site reliability assistant. It can read your telemetry data, look at incidents, build dashboards, and even write code to fix errors, all within a single conversation.
You can start a new chat in AI SRE → New chat.
The agent has access to your team's logs, metrics, traces, incidents, and on-call schedules. It can also connect to third-party tools like GitHub, Sentry, and Datadog to get a complete picture during an investigation.
How to start a conversation
There are several ways to start an AI SRE conversation:
- Start a new chat from the sidebar.
- Click Fix with AI on an error in Better Stack to start the error-to-pull-request workflow.
- Mention the AI SRE bot in a Slack or Microsoft Teams thread. To enable this, go to your Slack integration settings and check the Start an AI SRE conversation when Better Stack is tagged option.
- Continue an existing conversation from your chat history.
Bringing context into the chat
You can drop existing Better Stack resources directly into a message to give AI SRE context. Use the @ mention picker in the message box to add incidents, errors, applications, sources, or Slack threads.
Pasting long text, like a JSON export, or dropping a file will upload it as an attachment.
Chat history
Conversations resume exactly where you left off. If you close the tab and return later, the agent retains all context, allowing you to continue your investigation without starting over.
