How to Set Up a Custom Dashboard on Grafana's Home Page
In this post, you will set a custom dashboard to serve as your default home page site, ensuring you’re immediately presented with the most relevant and insightful data tailored to your needs every time you log in.
Start by accessing your Grafana account using credentials that have either Admin or Editor privileges. These roles are essential for making changes to dashboard settings and default preferences.
Once logged in, browse through your list of dashboards to find the one you want to set as your home page:
To prioritize your selected dashboard, click the star icon located in the top-right corner of the dashboard:
Starring a dashboard highlights it in your favorites for easy access and prepares it for selection as your default view.
Next, access the default settings to adjust your home page configuration. Select "Default Preferences" under the "General" section:
This area allows you to manage various default settings for your Grafana environment.
Within the Default Preferences, look for the "Home Dashboard" dropdown menu. From the list, select the dashboard you previously starred. After selecting, click "Save" to apply the changes.
This action designates your chosen dashboard as the new home page.
With these settings updated, the selected dashboard will now load automatically each time you access Grafana.
