Technical Writer
The challenge
At Better Stack, we pilot a startup rocketship aiming for the moons of unicorns. With millions in ARR, thousands of customers, and hundreds of thousands of engineers already using us, we are on the right way toward $100M ARR.
On our path there, we're building the best place on the internet to learn about scaling apps, observability, DevOps, and much more. We call it the Better Stack community.
It's read regularly by over 100,000+ people, and our articles are frequently trending on Reddit or in newsletters like Node Weekly. We're looking for amazing engineers who love writing or writers who enjoy writing about software to join us on this mission.
What you'll do
- Researching new technologies and trends that are trending in developer communities.
- Writing well-researched and high-quality technical articles, comparisons, and tutorials for developers to enjoy.
- Working directly with the content team to align on what content will most resonate with our readers and make the most impact.
- Bring your unique perspective on how to create the best educational content for engineers all over the world.
This might be for you if
- You enjoy writing and educating others. From day one, you'll have a platform to speak to hundreds of thousands of people with your work.
- You like end-to-end ownership. You will have the opportunity to work on interesting technical concepts from ideation and research to writing and publishing.
- You have native-level English skills – both written and spoken form.
- You are independent, resourceful and not afraid to roll up your sleeves.
Who you'll work with
A team of smart and talented colleagues who are extraordinary at what they do and collaborate together to build an amazing product. Namely:
- Ayo, our head of content and the person behind the Better Stack community.
- Stanley, our amazing technical writer and engineer.
- Jenda, our head of go-to-market and our own version of Alex Schultz.
- And, of course, our amazing engineers, whose wizard-level skills help solve any technical problem and are always willing to help.
- As well as many guest writers and individual contributors to the community.
Where to go next?
- What it's like to work here – feel the atmosphere, understand the culture.
- How we think about software engineering (most of the principles we describe there apply to other parts of the company as well 😉).
- We raised over $28M since we started, turned profitable last year, and are now taking on the developer tools industry.
- Get to know us through the lens of our investors from Creandum (also invested in Spotify, Bolt, or Klarna).
