Customer Service (generalist)
The challenge
At Better Stack, we are software builders at heart, with our customers at the core of everything we do. We develop our products to empower over 300,000 engineers build their software better and faster. Be it an indie hacker, a national government, or the Brave browser.
Every customer we talk to is building something that matters. One day it is an indie hacker launching their dream project, the next it is a Fortune 500 team keeping mission-critical systems online. They all come to us expecting support that is instant, personal, and world-class.
We do not hand this off to AI. Instead, we give our team powerful internal tools to draft and automate the boring parts, so they can focus on what matters: solving problems, building relationships, and delivering the kind of experience people remember.
Are you intrigued to join a hyper-growth environment, learn, and try on different hats? Then read on.
What you'll do
- Be the face of Better Stack. You will be the first person our customers meet when they need help.
- Delight people using our products and answer questions over chat, email, Twitter, or Slack. From tricky issues to simple guidance, you'll make sure customers leave every interaction impressed. Our internal AI assistant can draft replies, but you bring the clarity, empathy, and judgment that make customers feel cared for.
- Shape the user experience of our products. By talking to customers daily, you'll know what matters to them the most. Share your insights with product and engineering to shape how our tools evolve.
- Team up across the company. Work side by side with sales, success, operations, product and engineering so customers always feel supported, no matter the stage of their journey.
- Keep raising the bar. Refine processes, experiment, and continuously improve how we support customers so that as we scale, our speed and quality keep improving.
This might be for you if
- You want to be a part of a high-growth environment where your work directly shapes how hundreds of thousands of engineers experience our product.
- You are a fast learner grasping unfamiliar concepts with ease. You don't need to have a technical background – we'll teach you everything you need to know.
- You are an excellent communicator with native-level English skills.
- You are independent, resourceful and not afraid to roll up your sleeves.
- Other functions such as sales, marketing, growth, customer success or operations are also on your radar.
- You'd like to work full-time or part-time. We've found that 25 hours per week is a great minimum to make sure we can cover onboarding effectively.
- You would like to help us build a love brand that customers talk about, because they remember how you made them feel (we're proud of the way we treat our customers).
Who you'll work with
A team of smart and talented colleagues who are extraordinary at what they do and collaborate together to build an amazing product. Namely:
- Veronika, our co-founder & COO, who was previously at Google and Shopify.
- Anna our head of operations, who was previously running a space company developing software for satellites and probes.
- Filip, our resident technical magician, who can help setup anything from a simple config to the migration of a 300-strong team.
- Our incredible engineers, product, sales, and customer teams, who combine wizard-level skills with a genuine willingness to jump in and help.
Where to go next?
- What it's like to work here – feel the atmosphere, understand the culture.
- How we think about software engineering (most of the principles we describe there apply to other parts of the company as well 😉).
- In the news: Tech Crunch, Czech Crunch, and Forbes (Startup of the Year award).
