Can You Delete the Message Field From Logstash?
Yes, you can remove the message
field and other fields if you find them redundant or unnecessary. This will not cause any issues.
To delete the message
field, you can use the following configuration:
filter {
mutate {
remove_field => [ "message" ]
}
}
The remove_field
option can also be used with JSON data like this:
filter {
json {
source => "message"
remove_field => ["message"]
}
}
If you want to delete multiple fields at once, you can use the remove_field
option as shown below:
filter {
mutate {
remove_field => [ "field1", "field2", "field3", ..., "fieldN" ]
}
}
