# AI SRE Notion integration

Connect Notion to allow AI SRE to look up your team's runbooks, documentation, and other knowledge stored in Notion, and to write back what it learns.

Go to **AI SRE** → [Integrations](https://chat.betterstack.com/team/0/integrations/popular ";_blank") → **Notion** and create a Notion connection for Better Stack:

1. Open **Notion** → **Developer** → [Connections](https://www.notion.so/profile/integrations/internal ";_blank")
2. Click **New connection**.
3. Type in "Better Stack" as **Connection name**, select **API token** and click **Create connection**.
4. Click **Content access** → **Edit access** and select the pages you want to give AI SRE access to.
5. Click **Configuration** and copy the **API token**.
6. Back in Better Stack, enter an **Integration name**, paste the token into **API token** and click **Connect**.

## Look up runbooks and docs in Notion

This is useful when your incident response procedures and technical documentation are in Notion. During an investigation, AI SRE automatically searches for relevant runbooks before trying to solve a problem from scratch.

Once connected, AI SRE can:

-   List your Notion workspaces.
-   Search across pages and databases.
-   Read the content of individual pages, including text, tables, and other blocks.
-   Query databases and read their schemas.
-   Read page comments.

The integration can only access the pages you select under **Content access** on the Notion connection. If AI SRE can't find a page, open **Notion** → **Developer** → [Connections](https://www.notion.so/profile/integrations/internal ";_blank") and click **Better Stack** → **Content access** → **Edit access** to add it.

## Build a knowledge base in Notion

AI SRE can write to Notion, so it can save what it learns during an investigation and grow a knowledge base your team reuses next time.

Once connected, AI SRE can:

-   Create and save pages.
-   Append content to a page.
-   Edit existing content on a page.
-   Add comments.
